GOD COMPLEX

According to Wikipedia, A god complex is an unshakable belief characterized by consistently inflated feelings of personal ability, privilege, or infallibility.

Light (Kira) Yagami is a classic example of someone who has a god complex. In the manga series Death Note by Tsugumi Ohba, from the very first chapter, Light shows a hint of god complex because he believes he is far superior than those in his class. His god complex is only feed more once he get's his hands on Ryuk's death note, which allows him to kill people if he writes their name in the book. Light becomes obsessed believing that he can cleanse the world and become the ruler of a new one. In the series, Light says “Hear this: I'm not only Kira, but I'm also God of the new world!” This view that is being portrayed is often caused by feelings of superiority , a delusion that they are equal with god.

Another example of someone who suffers from a god complex would be Izaya Orihara. He thrives off the idea of being superior than everyone else. He is a very charming man but also manipulative. He sees everyone as being below him and treats them like his own personal toys. An example of this would be when a girl named Rio is standing off the edge of a building, preparing to commit suicide. Izaya shows up and tries to convince her to do it claiming she didn't matter. It is later revealed that he was the one who drove her to attempt it by lying to her, pretending to be in love with her, and even so far as getting her kidnapped. Once Rio finds out this information, she gets upset while Izaya simply laughs it off saying that humans are native excluding himself.

The video above is a classic example of a god complex. Light believes he is the only one who can cleanse the world.
