Full Metal Alchemist: Father Cornello
One of the worlds best selling anime which carries many religious references. Two young boys Edward and Alphonse Elric make a mistake of trying to bring back their dead mother. This results in Edward losing an arm and leg while Al loses his whole body but Edward attaches his soul to an suit of armor. The boys come across father Cornello when they visit a small village in the desert. The folks in the city claim that Cornello can create miracles and that their town will be a peaceful place if they show their love and thanks to him and god. Cornello is actually using a scientific rock known as the philosopher stone which was created with alchemy. Cornello goes as far as to say that he can bring the dead back to life. A young girl Rose who devotes herself to the church, asks Cornello to bring back her deceased boyfriend who died in a car accident. When he bring Rose to her imposingly alive boyfriend, it turns out he was in the body of bird and wasn't functional at all. Rose questions Cornello but he doesn't seem to care due to his powerful position. It's only until Edward manged to trick him into admitting his wrong doings by hiding a mircophone behind him, Cornello lost his position of power.
In this video, Edward exposes father Cornello's abusive powerful motives and claiming his followers were mindless enough to believe him that he can resurrect them.
